​Continuing with my A24 binge, here we have another horror movie that received a lot of good reviews. They have already announced a third movie in this series (X, Pearl, and then MaXXXine coming out later), so I decided to watch the first two to be prepared for the newest one! The story follows a group of teenagers wanting to make an adult film in the year 1979. They travel to an abandoned barn on someone's property and decide to stay there to film their pornography. When the owners of the barn catch them in the act, a prolonged sequence of gore and bloodshed ensues as secrets are revealed and bodies start piling up. Will anyone survive this massacre? Let me say, this was another great horror movie. I loved the characters and their unique personalities, and I especially enjoyed the 70's look and feel added to this movie in post-production (film grain and the soundtrack). The disturbing scenes really hit hard, especially since the characters were well developed which added an extra level of horror to the already heavy movie. Overall, this is an amazing horror film for those wanting a nostalgic 70's feel with a good story and a whole lot of bloodshed.
