After watching the original movie, my whole family was excited for this sequel. Seeing that I am on an Eddie Murphy binge, I decided to watch this movie with the family! This movie tells the story of Akeem 30 years later, now married and having 3 daughters, who is informed that he has a son in America. After finding the son, the son must take a test to become the king of Zammunda. Akeem's oldest daughter does not like this, since she has been training to become the heir to Zammunda ever since she was born. Will Akeem's son become a king, or will unexpected surprises get in the way? Let me say, this was a hilarious movie that kept me laughing from start to finish. The plot, like the original, had many holes. The flashback sequence, for example, was very rushed and undeveloped when they were explaining how Akeem got a son in America. While there are many holes, the humor and the character development makes up for it. Overall, this is a decent movie for fans of the original who want a good laugh.
