After The Super Mario Bros. Movie's disappointment, I remembered that I still have the conclusion to Kill Bill Vol. 1 that I needed to watch, so I decided to finish the epic saga of The Bride and her quest for revenge, and I am glad I did! This movie picks up right after the first one, with The Bride driving towards an old friend of Bill to learn his location, and the final members of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad learn of her location and try to finish her off before she learns of Bill's location which leads to more backstory on who The Bride truly is, and her true identity! Will she get revenge and kill Bill, or will the newfound secrets be the end The Bride and her quest for revenge? Let me just say, this movie was better than the first one. The story was amazing with perfect pacing and better characters than the first. This movie doesn't put a heavy reliance on over-the-top comical violence, which causes the good story to come through while still adding a few violent moments. The dialogue seemed to be the same compared to the first one (which makes sense considering it is one film split into two parts) and same goes for the reoccurring characters and their development throughout. Some things that make sense for this part of the movie, considering it is technically the 'climax' of the entire story (Vol. 1 and Vol. 2) is that the pacing was quicker and better with a heavier emphasis on story and flashbacks rather than the extreme amounts of violence seen in the first half (Vol. 1) of the movie, which is probably why this movie seemed better and more impactful than the first one. Overall, this was a thrilling conclusion to The Bride's story and maybe one day I can see the original cut in Quentin Tarantino's home theater!
