Shazam ★★★★☆

April 7th, 2019

Common Sense Media age: 11+ Violence 4/5 Sex 2/5

Language 3/5

My age recommendation: 12+ (Due to violence, language, and a brief suggestive situation).

Shazam is the story of a boy named Billy who is a foster child. He has run away from over 29 families, and now he's placed in the last house that would except him. One day, he went on a subway train to escape from bullies, and then the train went to an underground passageway with a wizard who would give him powers if he said Shazam. Billy did and became a superhero, and fought a person who wanted his power to take over the world. Was this movie good? It was amazing. The effects were amazing, the characters were exactly like the ones in the comic book, and a good lesson is learned from this movie. Also, this movie had a lot of funny moments, like when Billy turned into a superhero and destroyed a bully's car. The only thing I would have changed was the beginning, and I would have made it shorter. Other than that, this was a great movie for any fan of superheroes and comedy.
