Common Sense Media Age: 11+ Violence 4/5 Language 3/5
Sex 2/5
My Age Recommendation: 11+ (Due to strong violence, some blood, brief strong language, and a brief sexual reference).
It has been over a month since Spider-Man No Way Home has been released and I am only just watched it. After a month of staying off the internet and TikTok, I finally watched and reviewed the newest MCU movie without bias or prior knowledge. The movie takes place instantly after the events of Spider-Man Far From Home, and Peter's identity has been revealed to the entire world. The world is now divided between those who believe Spider-Man when he says he did not murder Mysterio, and those who believed Mysterio's video where he claimed Spider-Man ordered a drone strike to kill him. He is battling many legal issues, and just as things couldn't get any worse, Peter, MJ, and Ned are rejected from MIT due to the recent events. Peter goes to Dr. Strange to fix this, but instead accidentally ruins Strange's spell and transports villains from other dimensions to this one! Now Peter must battle these villains and send them back to their correct multiverse, but he will need a little help from others along the way. Can he send them back, or will his entire life get a whole lot worse? Let me say, this was definetely worth the wait. The story, as usual for most Marvel movies, was well developed and had impactful emotional moments. The characters were developed even further, and this made plot twists much more meaningful to the audience. My only issue with this movie is the VFX for some of the villains. This might be a spoiler for some, so don't say I didn't warn you. Sandman and The Lizard had terrible VFX. The mouth of The Lizard was not smooth and fluid and it looked better in the 2012 The Amazing Spider-Man. Same goes for Sandman, since I thought Marvel could have done better with the sand particles specifically when he touched things. In the 2007 Spider-Man 3, every time Sandman touched something, sand went everywhere in a realistic particle simulation. In this movie, the sand felt more controlled and it wasn't splashy, which (this is a personal opinion) took away from the realism of Sandman himself. Overall, this is an amazing Marvel movie with a good story and good characters.
