Common Sense Media Age: 11+ Violence 4/5 Language 2/5 Sex 2/5
My Age Recommendation: 10+ (Due to strong violence and scariness).
Disney has done it. Star Wars has come to an epic conclusion, and this movie is the best one yet! Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is the story of Rey and her allies as they are forced to seek help for a final mission. This mission has the coordinates for the land of the Sith, and if the plan is successfully executed, the dark side will be no more. This task isn't easy, as everyone must confront their past in order to face their future. After this battle, there will only be one outcome. Will the rebellion finally win the war of the galaxy, putting an end to the First Order? Or will the First Order get to them first, and rule the galaxy forever? Let me first say, don't listen to other critics. They say this movie is a 55 (out of 100) on Rotten Tomatoes for its unoriginal ending. I say it's a very fitting ending, and I wasn't expecting it. True Star Wars fans will enjoy not only the ending, but also the subtle references to other Star Wars platforms. Another thing I liked was how many characters were fully developed, and how the new characters introduced were a great addition to the Star Wars movie. My only issue is how the character of Rose, who, Disney spent a long time developing her in the previous Star Wars movie, was not given much of a role unlike the previous movie. They built her relationship Finn, and it wasn't even continued in this movie. Overall, this is an amazing ending to a wonderful saga that is a must-watch for all Star Wars fans!
